Functional and Holistic medicine for hormone balance

Comprehensive testing and root-cause care for irregular cycles, perimenopause, PCOS, thyroid, and the symptoms standard labs miss.

Hormones don't operate in isolation. They're shaped by your gut, your sleep, your stress response, and your nutrient status — which is why "your labs look normal" can be true and your symptoms can still be very real. I work with comprehensive hormone testing — DUTCH, full thyroid panels, cycle mapping, adrenal panels — to map what's actually happening across your full hormonal landscape, not just the one or two markers a standard panel checks. Then we build a plan that addresses the actual drivers.

You may be a fit for hormone-focused care if you have:
  • Irregular, painful, or heavy periods

  • PMS, PMDD, or cyclical mood changes

  • Perimenopause or menopause symptoms (hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood shifts, weight changes)

  • PCOS, estrogen dominance, or low progesterone - Low libido, persistent fatigue, or unexplained weight changes -

  • Thyroid symptoms with "normal" lab results - Hair thinning, cystic acne, or skin changes you suspect are hormonal

  • A history of birth control use and you want to understand what's underneath

Comprehensive hormone testing

Standard hormone testing — a single estrogen and progesterone reading on cycle day 21, basic thyroid TSH — misses most of what actually drives symptoms. The functional layer requires more depth.

Tests I commonly use:
  • Card 1 — DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) Sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) and their metabolites, cortisol rhythm and total output, melatonin, and key nutrient cofactors — all in one test.

  • Card 2 — Full thyroid panel TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies (TPO, TG). Goes far beyond the TSH-only screening that misses most thyroid issues.

  • Card 3 — Cycle mapping Targeted progesterone and estrogen testing across the cycle. Especially useful for PMS, fertility, and irregular patterns.

  • Card 4 — Adrenal and HPA axis testing Salivary or DUTCH cortisol rhythm. Critical when stress, burnout, or sleep disruption are part of the picture.

  • Card 5 — Metabolic and insulin panels For PCOS or insulin-driven hormone patterns: fasting insulin, HbA1c, and HOMA-IR.

How We Work Together

Step 1 — Discovery call ($25, 15 minutes) A short video call to talk through what's going on, hear my approach, and see if we're a fit. The $25 fee is applied toward your initial consultation when you decide to move forward.

Step 2 — Initial consultation (60–75 minutes) Your full history — symptoms, cycle history, prior workups, medications, family history.

Step 3 — Testing Lab kits ship to your door. Some hormone tests require collection on specific cycle days, so we time them carefully. Results take 2–3 weeks.

Step 4 — Results review (60 minutes) We go through every finding together. You leave with a written protocol — nutrition, supplements, lifestyle, and timeline.

Step 5 — Ongoing follow-ups Usually 30–45 minutes, monthly at first, then less frequently. Most patients work with me for 4–6 months for hormone-focused care; longer for perimenopause or complex cases.

Conditions I commonly see:

Hormones and Your Gut

Your microbiome plays a direct role in estrogen metabolism (the estrobolome), thyroid hormone conversion, cortisol regulation, and serotonin production. Most patients I see for hormones have at least some gut involvement — and addressing one without the other often leaves people stuck. If your symptoms include both hormone and digestive issues, we'll address them together.

For diagnostic conditions like endometriosis, I work alongside your gynecologist as part of an integrative approach
